Edge is the city known best for some of the best blacksmiths in Midgard. Recently, creatures have begun to lay waste to parts of the vast city. Yet no one stands up to fight off the creatures of darkness.

*Night. A time that came with each passing day as usual. A time where many figures lurked about more than others. One such figure was at the outskirts of the city, a black cloak covering his form. Silver eyes watching the darkness, as if in a trance because of it. He looked around, his left arm being shrouded by a black clawed gauntlet, the other hidden beneath the cloak he wore. He looked toward part of the ruined city, his eyes easily showing that he could care less for the well-being of the city.*
"...I wonder. Will it happen again tonight?"

The youth clad in black wandered around the town, dark blue eyes scanning around. Gloved hands clenched and unclenched, showing some sort of anticipation. His uncle had warned him of the dangerous which lurked at night. Ones that wrecked nothing but havoc and mayhem. As it was, he did not think too much of such things. He was more curious in seeing how he matched up against such things. To see if the years that had passed were any use. His uncle had told him he would be coming to here soon.
Whatever happened tonight would likely be enough to tell him if he needed to convince the man otherwise.

A portal of darkness appeared near the first man as someone stepped forth from it, moving along after. As the youth traveled the town at night, the anticipation that led him was genuine and true. The air was tense, and madness lingered as sounds echoed through the air and shadows moved with them. The ruined parts of the city would expand even further tonight, of this they all knew.
And with the coming visit of one who worked for the forces of darkness, would that destruction be spread ever so much more. The first sound boomed through the city as the ruinous mayhem began anew.

*Looked like heading back to his small and humble shack would have to wait. He could feel the darkness coming from the one that left the portal, but it was not the same as his own. They did not truly wield the darkness as he himself did, otherwise they would have felt far more dreadful than they had. But it was already true that the creatures of the night were arriving again.*
"They can wait."
*He had no business with them, though he did have business with the thing in front of him. Following whatever it was silently, he would see where it led him. Odds were it would lead him to something that could relieve him of his flimsy days and nights. At least the ones he could recall anyway.*

Hearing the sounds and feeling the tension in the air, it seemed like whatever the rumours said were true. The Monk continued to walk, his gait more cautious. As it was, it was likely that he would tell his uncle to not tread here. Now was just the curiousity he had of what lurked at night.

The Shadow Knight trailed the other as they came upon the Mayor's home. The gates to the mansion were destroyed in an instant, darkness destroying them immediately. The figure kept going, the servants standing aside with fear from the sudden appearance and attack.
The Monk's path was clear, able to see now what was ahead of him. Beings as black as night itself, their eyes glowing in the darkness rampaging about the city. Terrorizing people and homes both as they held nothing back in spreading fear among the people and destruction about all else. They hadn't noticed him quite yet as they continued to do their usual business with more fervor than usual.

*He felt a burning sensation rush through his right hand. Death must have been going to happen. It always burned so badly every time there was something nearby, something he could help push further or help stop. He always simply ignored it, opting for neither option. Walking into the gates of the mansion, it was clear that he was going to keep tailing the figure until he heard the story and figured out what was happening. And he could hear that voice inside, speaking up once more.*
"And so you're finally moving?"
*He nodded to the voice, continuing after while lurking with the darkness. Curiosity and the sense of being tired of things drew ever nearer. They pushed him ahead by the smallest amount, edging him forward. And so he would continue to follow this feeling as a result of such a thing.*

Tilting his head, he wondered at this scenario. While he gave a snort at the panic being spread throughout, he supposed that his uncle would be most disappointed if he stood idly by. He stepped forward, an exact copy of himself stepping out from behind the shadows and charging forward, striking out and lashing at the creatures.

As the Shadow Knight continued following, he made up stairs and finally the largest bedroom in the mansion where the Mayor stayed at. The figure was inside, the talk between the two going. It was clear that the Mayor was filled with fear, and he was right to feel such a thing given his situation. The Mayor's answer must not have been good enough, the figure gripping him by the mouth and lifting up in the air. Once the hold was held long enough, the Mayor was let go, falling back to the ground and coughing. It was here that he forked up an answer, or as good as one as any other in this case. "I-I did hear a rumor! Something about a woman in Alreva with a staff with the symbol of the Glyph of Water on it!" That seemed to be a sufficient enough answer for the figure, turning to walk away. But it was after that it paused, noting the wielder of darkness' presence now. It seemed as though things were going to get hostile however, the dark forces gathering in the palms of the shrouded figure's hands. He had heard too much already, so he would have to be dealt with. The Mayor too, after they were done with the one who would put up a fight first. - The Figure in the Manor - And as the Monk made his stand, did several of the creatures pause to go and meet him head on. If there was a fight that he wanted, they would cut him down like the many others that had fallen before him had now. - The Fight in the City of Blades -

*Seeing the blast gather, Vincent decided against blocking it. Instead he evaded, making a full sprint towards the nearby window and letting the darkness around him handle the rest. Slamming right through it, he made his way out as the manor burst into flames behind him, causing his aura to be destroyed as he landed on the ground, rolling before he halted. Looked like it had tried to take him down alongside it...*
"How troublesome. Now then... Alreva, was it?"
*That wasn't far from Edge honestly speaking, turning as he started to go on his way. He would head there and see if he could find the Glyph of Water next. And perhaps when he did, he could...*

As Vincent left and the manor burned, a green light flashed within it. An orb of sorts hovered in place, having watched the Shadow Knight leave before it shattered. The orb had served as a eye of sorts, letting one see and hear what was happening. And that was more than enough now... to send the Dark Knight to the Town of Magic, Alreva.
